Happy TGIF everyone! The weather is gorgeous today and hopefully it will stay for the weekend! This week has flown by for me (probably cause I had so many great dinners) but I’m still really looking forward to the weekend. Definitely lots of eating, sleeping and loving my doggie on the agenda. Stayed up late to watch the beginning of the Royal Wedding and I’m so glad I did. Beautiful!

Have a great weekend! <3!

I have always been a big fan of Southern cooking but the options are quite limited in Vancouver. When I heard about The Kingfish Cafe and how they serve Chick n’ Waffles I knew I had to visit!

The Kingfish Cafe is located in a nice area just 10 minutes drive from downtown Seattle. Nothing far for Chick n’ Waffles.

There are many family photos on the walls with captions. A very sweet tribute.

Chick n' Waffles

A fluffy waffle and fried chicken with a choice of gravy or syrup. Of course I went for syrup! The waffles were very fluffy and the fried chicken had a delicious coating. Just the right amount of flavor. Every bite: waffle, chicken, butter and syrup! Yums!

Good Glory! Grits!

I’ve never had grits before, so I did not know what to expect when I ordered this. But sure glad I did! Grits smothered with chicken, onions and gravy served with scrambled eggs and a biscuit. Did I mention a HUGE biscuit! I love carbs but even this was too much for me to handle. We struggled and only managed to finish half of that biscuit! The grits was delicious. The chicken and gravy went  well together. This was a very filling item.

There are still so many items that I would love to try (esp: Crawfish and Corn Chowder Soup). Can’t wait to go back for dinner when I head into Seattle again.

What a gorgeous long weekend! I spent 2 amazing days in Seattle soaking up as much as I could. There were so many places to indulge but so little time. Pike Place Market was fully packed the whole weekend.

Happy Easter! I hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend! I sure did. I have never ate so much consecutively in 3 days. Will update with my fun food adventures from Seattle tomorrow! Wishing everyone a great night filled with delicious food.

craving a red velvet cupcake...

dreaming about Bacon Maple doughnut from Voodoo doughnuts...

Since the long weekend is a head, I’m half way through the work week. Needing a pick-me-upper and craving a moist red velvet cupcake and a “guilty pleasure” bacon maple doughnut from Voodoo Doughnuts in Portland. If you haven’t tried..you must!

Most of you probably know that I am stripping down for The Underwear Affair on July 9th. Yes, stripping down! I will be putting on my briefs and running 10k to help raise funds to fight cancer below the waist!

Started April with a Fundraiser for Japan. A great event helping those in need from a devastating disaster..sending our support and love.

Starting off the weekend with a delicious North Shore smoothie from Cactus Club. So very delicious!

My new love! So fluffy and spreads easily <3!

Sunday morning creation. French toast stuffed with (my new love)  whipped cream cheese topped with fresh mangoes.

I finally had a welcome back dinner with my friend May and her stories of Cayman Islands at our favorite French place Salad de Fruits cafe. Since our first time there we have been back a few times and the quality of  food never changes. I love the unique, cozy atmosphere and the service is always great.  As usual we ordered more than we could chew.

Escargot

Fish Pate

It was my first time having this dish. It tasted creamy, almost like soft cheese. I quite enjoyed it.

The special of the evening

My Fav: Steak and Frites

My favorite dish. The portion is huge and the frites are so addictive.

Ice-cream puffs with chocolate sauce

Special: Green Tea cake

Not too sweet and just the right amount of green tea flavor.
