Feastro the rolling bistro–downtown Vancouver

Crab & Shrimp Cake

feastro the rolling bistro– located in downtown across the Olympic Torch and the Convention Centre.

There is always a line up during the lunch time rush and the wait can be longer than expected. However, it’s definitely worth the wait. Their menu offers a large selection (one of the largest I think in Vancouver). Ingredients are fresh with some very unique items.

Crab & Shrimp Cake – cayenne, coriander, sweet bell peppers, on Henry Reed organic greens, with truck made smoked tomato cocktail sauce. $13

The crab and shrimp cake is very large and it comes top of a salad. Great for sharing and a good dish if you enjoy regular crab cakes.

Fish & Chips – Local Red Snapper

The Fish & Chips – Local Red Snapper with pomme frites, with truck made tartar sauce, Pacific Rim slaw. $12

The slaw was very refreshing and the batter on the fish was good. Not oily and the snapper tasted fresh.

I have passed by the La Brasserie street food cart many times and everytime they were sold out.  When I finally got the chance last week I was super excited. The Brass Chicken sandwich is quite big with lots of fried onions. The buttermilk bun was very soft and the chicken was very flavorful oozing with gravy. A bit salty for me however the buttermilk bun balanced it all out. I loved the fried onions and wanted more. I also added djion mustard to the sandwich which gave a tangy surprise. For $6.25 its a delicious lunch!
