Took such a quick trip to San Diego…feels like a dream. We brought the rain with us and it lasted for the first two days. We only got a small peak of the sun but just seeing the palm trees and feeling the ocean breeze was good enough for me. We also ate lots..lots and lots. A little bit too much.

Our first stop after we got off the plane was to Tacos El Gordo in Chula Vista. Seriously the best tacos I have ever had. It is so authentic and all the fillings had great flavours. I highly recommend the Beef Head, Beef Tongue and definitely ask for the grilled green onions! Oh, did I mention the price?? Most of the tacos are only $2! The only thing to look out for is that the ordering system was a bit tricky. You must order your tacos from a particular counter that serves it, however it’s all in Spanish so it can be confusing. Once you have your tacos you then walk back to the front and pay. This place is a must if you like tacos!

If you enjoy tacos then Chronic Tacos is a must. The menu is a bit confusing but the friendly staff will gladly guide you through the process. The two of us ordered 4 fatty tacos and it was more than enough. We had Beer Battered Fish, Grilled Fish, Beef and Pulled Pork. My favourite was the Beer Battered Fish with all the possible toppings: salsa, cabbage, mild hot sauce, cheese, salsa and onions. Overall a great place for tacos but I would still say my fave fave taco place is still La Taqueria….nothing beats it.

Hello Mr. Sunshine! It’s finally getting warmer and I’m loving every minute of it. Love the sun on my face and eating outside! I was brutally sick this past weekend but got better in time to enjoy the last bit before heading back to work.

chips, salsa, guacamole from Lolita's

Started off last weekend at Lolita’s with some delicious guacamole and chips. The chips were fried on the spot and fresh.

fresh mango juice

Loved the atmosphere and vibe of this place. They are open for late night so definitely a good place for food and drinks on the weekends. Can’t wait to return and try their cocktails.

phnom penh attack

Yes, there is 4 orders of butter beef and 4 orders of chicken wings on the table. I was a little worried when the boys first ordered. Thinking “really?? 4 orders of both?” But we demolished it=) I would have the say the girls held our own! P

Love this Pop- Up bowl popcorn. So convenient! Straight from the microwave, just tear off the top and popcorn time! A perfect snack for watching the Canucks play.

Coming up is long weekend and I have so much that I would like to do..hopefully I can squeeze it all in 3 days !

Have a wonderful Thursday everyone!

My favourite food sparkles from the Riu Resort

Unlimited amounts of fresh fruit juices. On the table: Papaya, Pineapple, Celery+Apple+Carrot, Beet Juice. And yes I drank it all=)

Deep Fried Platter from the Steak house. One of our A La Carte dinners. Deep fried: oysters, mushrooms, prawns and chicken wings.

The biggest steak dinner I have ever had…..

My favorite dessert: Pan fried Pineapple topped with coconut ice-cream, and drizzled with chocolate and butterscotch sauce!

Las Margaritas-My partner in crime was craving Mexican food so we decided to hit up Las Margaritas since we haven’t been there for a while. We arrived at the restaurant around 5:30pm and it was pretty packed already. It was definitely an early dinner for us but we were quite hungry at the time. We were seated immediately and given chips and salsa right away.

The chips were great and it came with a more traditional salsa which is more runny and not chunky. It was a little spicy for me at first but so addictive. It took us a while to decide what to get because I wasn’t feeling well (flu season is here!) and didn’t want something too rich.

This was my Salmon Burrito topped with a Chipolte Cream Sauce and Feta Cheese. It was accompanied with Refried Beans and House Salad. The burrito tasted great but it was a little smaller than usual. I guess cause there was no rice stuffed inside like most other burritos I’ve had. It was good but nothing great.

(My partner in crime took this photo, hence the brightness. hahaha) The other dish that we ordered was the Pollo Loco which is half a chicken marinated for 24 hours and then oven roasted and grilled. It came with Refried Beans and a House Salad as well. The chicken was nice and tender and with great flavor. This dish was only $14.50 which was the same price as my Salmon Burrito. For the same price you definitely get more bang for your buck with the Pollo Loco.

Overall, I really loved the atmosphere and decor. The service was great and the food was good. I would say one of the best Mexican restaurant in Vancouver.
